Following the death of V's father, the residence was repossessed as no one in the family was employed by the rubber plantation company. The company gave the mother a resettlement allowance of US$600 and allocated a piece of land located in the wilderness of 10m*20m. But because it was so remote, the V family never settled there. The story of this play is that after an ordinary middle-class heroine Eleanor dies unexpectedly, she finds herself in the afterlife. In the afterlife, a mentor, Michael, designed a good place, a place that was free of swear words and full of good people.
The dead can find everything there. But Eleanor found that there were some people there, just as sullen as she was, as if tormented. When she opened the investigation, she found out that it was all a conspiracy of the devil. "The Good Place" is basically a Christian dogma of heaven and hell, devised a proposition about life and death, and developed into a comedy. In addition to Eleanor, the protagonists of the story are Tahani, a wealthy woman, Jason, a low-IQ gangster, Qi Di, a philosophy professor, plus the devil Michael and the omnipotent assistant Jenny, forming a comedy of a six-person group.
